At Scuffs N Buffs we have been delighted to sponsor a young footballer – Jorgie Logan – over the last few years. Jorgie has been progressing well with her young footballing career and we are proud to have been part of her story.
We recently spoke with Jorgie’s Mum, Colette, and asked her a few questions as to what the sponsorship and support for Jorgie means.
Jorgie is currently playing for Peterborough Elite Academy under 13s, as well as Corby Town FC, and as part of her development she needs sponsorship to help pay for various aspects including ongoing season fees, kit and travel expenses. Scuffs N Buffs help fund Jorgie’s annual Peterborough fees as well as ad-hoc support when required.
Jorgie is also working hard towards getting onto the Women’s Super League pathway programme, a talent development pipeline, to progress to a more senior level.
Following a post for help on social media, Scott Hall (owner of Scuffs N Buffs) made contact and then spoke with Colette, only to find out that they actually knew each other from when they were younger! Colette was keen to engage a sponsor that was based in Corby and the fact that they shared Scottish roots, made it an ideal connection.
Colette commented “The sponsorship from Scuffs N Buffs means a lot to Jorgie and she is extremely grateful to Scott for his support and help. However, the relationship goes beyond pure financial support as Scott regularly checks in with me and Jorgie and we have established more of a friendship. Scott goes above and beyond in his sponsor role and has attended games and purchased additional kit e.g. football boots, when needed.
Jorgie has also grown in her confidence with the Scuffs N Buffs support and is happy to talk about her sponsor and their business. And, she volunteered to help put up Christmas decorations for Scott’s Christmas Lunch event, so showing her gratitude and paying him back with her time.
We are very grateful to Scott and his team for their ongoing support and are delighted that we are aligned to him and his growing business.”
In response, Scott Hall added “It is a privilege to be helping one of Corby’s rising football stars and I am happy that I am in the fortunate position to assist Jorgie and her family. Personally, I owe a lot to the Corby community for their support and I am thrilled that this is just one way that I can give back and help the next generation.”
